Dr. K Prakash Shetty relentless pursuit of excellence has propelled MRG Group to remarkable heights in both the hospitality and infrastructure sectors. His innovative leadership has earned him numerous accolades, including prestigious awards such as Karnataka Rajyotsava in 2019 for his tremendous accomplishments and contributions to the society. He has been honored with Visionary Hotel Owner of the Year, Bunts Stars Achievers, Indian Affairs Visionary Leadership, and the Times Group Lifetime Achievement Award.

The landmark event ‘Prakashabhinandana’ celebrated Dr. K. Prakash Shetty’s six decades of selfless service and transformative impact on society, drawing an audience of over 60,000 people. It was on this inspiring occasion that the ‘Asha Prakash Shetty Sahaya Hastha Yojane – NERAVU’ initiative was launched with a modest beginning. Since then, it has grown exponentially, becoming a beacon of hope and support, positively transforming lives across a wide spectrum of communities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, his initiatives ensured that no one in coastal Karnataka went hungry, benefiting over 20,000 families. Recently, Mangalore University recognized his contributions to societal welfare and awarded him an Honorary Doctorate of Literature in 2024.

As an educator, philanthropist, and steadfast champion of social causes, Dr. K. Managing Director, MRG Group is the young scion of the Shetty family. Alumni of the prestigious Swiss Hotel Management School, he has been instrumental in executing rapid expansion and diversification in the team at all fronts.

Gaurav, believes in systematically profiling and strengthening the public image of the company. He plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of the organisation and is keen on placing the group in international networking forums.

Gaurav grew up as an integral part of his father’s ventures, accompanying him everywhere and simultaneously learning the intricacies of the hospitality industry. Drawing from his invaluable experiences at renowned International and Indian hospitality brands, he swiftly assumed the role of Managing Director at MRG Group – a young mind driven by ambitions. With a brilliant mind, Gaurav strives to leave no stone unturned in showcasing his business acumen. He brings a fresh perspective to the company’s boutique hotel brand ‘Goldfinch’.

His passion has driven him to become a discerning hotelier, overseeing a portfolio that includes boutique hotels, luxury hotels, and multiple restaurants across major cities.
